Spanning 2.2 million acres, Yellowstone National Park is a breathtaking expanse of canyons, lush forests, geysers, and diverse wildlife. As America’s first national park, it stands as a symbol of natural beauty and conservation.
When an aging steel bridge along one of Yellowstone’s park roads required replacement, a solution was needed to balance high-quality construction with environmental sensitivity. STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES joined the project team because of their knowledge and experience with similar projects. They supplied horizontal post-tension U-shaped strand tendons, providing a durable and flexible solution that enhanced the overall strength and performance of the bridge. For corrosion protection, they designed a system with wax filler instead of traditional post-tension grout, and even performed a full-scale tendon wax mockup on site.
The innovative post-tension system provided by STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES not only protected but also enhanced the legacy of this iconic national treasure for future generations.
