Join us at the J Resort for an educational seminar and project site tour highlighting advanced structural strengthening and facility repurposing a 1960’s era parking structure. Structural Technologies in conjunction with Lynchpin Engineering is currently in the process of upgrading the 5th floor of the Casino’s parking structure to accommodate the facility’s newest attraction – a new automotive museum.
The seminar will highlight the need to increase the floor’s capacity to resist higher live loads using a combination of strengthening solutions namely pressurized concreting and fiber-reinforced polymer. The pressurized concreting technique, specified by ACI RAP 5 and referenced by the ACI 562 Repair Code, ensured composite behavior between the new and old concrete for overhead concreting applications. Please join us as we share how structural strengthening for higher gravity loads was achieved using non-conventional techniques.
